Whether you're looking for a big-woods adventure or a wee walk in the park, Gaylord's got it. The city sits smack dab in the center of Northern Michigan, making it an easy access point to a host of hike-able (and bike-able) miles. The exploring doesn't end when the region's legendary snow starts falling either. Simply step into some snowshoes, strap on some skis or hop on a snowmobile - our great white woods await.

Be sure and visit the areas newest park:
Louis M. Groen Nature Preserve. A gift to Otsego County from Louis M. Groen Opened the Summer of 2012 for hiking, biking, snow shoeing and cross country skiing in the winter.  Horseback riding is allowed one day a month.  Biking is not allowed on those days.  Call for current schedule.  Entrance is located at the corner of Waters and Gingell Roads in Johannesburg. 800-345-8621.
