When the snow starts flying check this site daily for trail conditions as it is updated as reports come in.

Reports are that the trails are in “Poor” condition!  Trails have very little snow but lots of ice, mud and dirt spots.  No snow in the forecast and temps predicted in the mid to upper 40s all week.  Unless we get a snow storm the season may be at its end!  Always check the local weather forecast! Please keep checking back for updates!

 Attention Riders:

When riding trail 4 to the west you will notice a re-route at C-38 & Tittabawassee Trail to the north. Please follow the signs and continue west on the north side of C-38 for approximately 2 ½ miles where the trail will turn right (north) on Manistee River road, a county seasonal road, north to existing trail at Duck Lake Road. Please be aware when traveling on C-38 the trail will be in the county right of way which is 40’ from the center of the road. This slight trail change has been signed.

Responding To Your Questions

Deward Area

In June 2003, the approximate 4700-acre Deward Tract located south west of Gaylord was closed to all motorized vehicles. Many have asked us how this affected snowmobiling in the Gaylord area. This closing DOES NOT affect our trail system. Our designated snowmobile trail system goes around the Deward area. Please do not hesitate to call our Information Center at 1-800-345-8621.

Visitors should be aware that even though we encourage snowmobilers to visit town, sidewalks are for pedestrians. The City of Gaylord Police have been giving tickets to snowmobiles on sidewalks. You can get to within one block of downtown using the trail, so please park your sled and walk the rest of the way.

Crossing Main St.!

Snowmobiles may not cross Main Street between the Railroad tracks to the West and Elm St. to the East. The snowmobile trail crosses Main St. at the railroad tracks.

Travel Within The City!

Snowmobiles may travel no faster than 10 M.P.H. on city side streets. No travel is allowed on M-32 (Main St.) or Old 27.
