Winter Outdoor Fun Day

Winter Outdoor Fun Day at the Otsego Environmental Learning Site behind Gaylord Middle School at 600 East Fifth Street, Gaylord. March 1st, Sat. from 10 am to 1 pm.  Follow signs to parking.  Then follow signs to hike in to the Cabin area.  

KOO activities are primarily for young children birth to eight, with their Parents/ Caregivers.  Older siblings and other family members are very welcome too.     

We’ll be doing fun outdoor winter activities for parents and kids to enjoy together:  

• Snowshoeing on several short trail loops in the snowy woods.  Bring your own snowshoes, or use loaners (we’ll have both kids & adults sizes) from HeadWaters Land Conservancy. Thanks – HWLC!    Explore and discover –  what will you find on the snowy trails?     
• Sled rides on the trails (parents pull!).   Bring a sled or borrow one of ours.  
• Snow Mazes, Snow Angels, & Snow Games.   
•  Bonfire, hot drinks.     Snacks courtesy of Great Start Parent Coalition
• ‘Make-it’ winter craft projects.    
• We’ll have a drawing for outdoor prizes at noon.   Enter your family when you arrive.

Activities are all outside, so dress for that day’s weather.               

No charge.   

Come and go as you wish.   

Parents, you are with your children at all times.  

The walk from the parking area to our site is a snowy trail.    The Nature Cabin will be open to get out of the wind.
