Wings Over Northern Michigan June 14, 17 & 18
June 14th Canadian Snowbirds!
The Snowbirds, based out of 15 Wing Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, are comprised of 83 Canadian Armed Forces personnel, 26 of whom will travel to 38 locations across Canada and the United States in 2017. The CT-114 Tutor aircraft that was designed and built by Canadair, the Tutor served as the Canadian Armed Forces primary jet trainer until it was replaced by the CT-155 Hawk and CT-156 Harvard II in 2000. There are only a few 9-plane demonstration teams in the world. Flying nine aircraft in tight formation, only 4-feet apart at times, takes a high level of skill making the performance exciting and fun to watch.
Airshow Weekend – June 17 & 18
The show Saturday and Sunday will see the return of Shockwave jet truck, the Aerostars, the historic B-17, B-25 and C-47 of the Yankee Air Force, Canadian Skyhawks jump team, F-16 and F-18 demo teams and Precision Exotics, a sports-car demonstration team, will kick off the Wednesday show with drag races down the runway.
They will also be selling driving and riding experiences for Thursday thru the weekend.Wings Over Northern Michigan saw a crowd of 18,000 over the two days in 2016.
