Our local restaurants have carry out and delivery down to a science and we hope you’ll take the time to sample Gaylord’s many culinary wonders. Mix it up a little and experience the creative outdoor dining that’s taking our Alpine Village to a whole new level!
We embrace winter in Gaylord and adapt to the changes around us, so it’s no surprise the dining scene in our Alpine Village is going through a transformation. Some of our favorite eateries have created outdoor spaces just as charming as their indoor spaces, complete with heat, linens and warm, welcoming accent pieces.
Alpine Tavern’s innovative igloo village last winter has spread throughout our community! While the tavern has expanded their dining fleet, you’ll also find igloos at the Otsego Resort, Treetops Resort and Iron Pig Smokehouse. Igloos give you the contentment of being inside while still being able to watch the snow fall around you.
For all the comfort of an igloo with a bit more privacy, savor your meal in a heated tent. Find luxurious décor at the Otsego Resort and an entire whimsical village greeting you at Porter Haus. Tent dining is perfect for intimate date nights or an evening out with the family.
Kudos to Big Buck Brewery and Snowbelt Brewing for going above and beyond when it comes to creativity. Snowbelt’s garage doors are a haven for fresh air in the summer, but now they open into convenient ice shanties for your sipping and nibbling pleasure. Big Buck is taking full advantage of their expansive patio by providing ice shanties to guests OR allowing BYOS service. That’s right, they’ve got the beer, but you can bring your own shanty!
While we’re eager to sit down inside all our local restaurants again, we’re happy to see locals and visitors able to dine inside (even when it’s outside). Along with these structures, you’ll also find a variety of outdoor seating areas, picnic tables and bonfires (who doesn’t love a winter bonfire?!). Even with heating, you’ll want a few extra layers to fully appreciate this winter wonderland dining experience. Outdoor dining fills up fast, so plan ahead and make a reservation.
