About:

The North Country National Scenic Trail, generally known as the North Country Trail or simply the N.C.T., is a footpath stretching approximately 4,600 miles from Crown Point in eastern New York to Lake Sakakawea State Park in central North Dakota. Passing through the seven states of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, New York and North Dakota, it is the longest of the eleven National Scenic Trails authorized by Congress.

Michigan offers a diverse range of hiking with 1,150 miles – the most miles in all 7 states.  Although just outside of Otsego County, the Northwestern Lower Michigan stretch of the trail covers approximately 227 miles, has a moderate rating and features terrain diversity including flat open meadows, ridge top views, rivers and lakes.
