Description
The Pigeon River Country State Forest stretches over 106,700 acres of state land.  This pristine wilderness offers countless recreational opportunities, including hiking, mountain biking, hunting, fishing, wildlife viewing and more.  With abundant, winding trails and turquoise lakes stocked with fish, you can lose yourself for hours in this untouched paradise.

Known for being home to one of the largest free-roaming elk herds east of the Mississippi, this area has ample opportunities for elk viewing.  The recently finished Discovery Center also offers educational workshops for both children and adults to learn more about the local flora and fauna.

The Pigeon River Country State Forest also offers many camping opportunities in a rustic, natural setting.  Click here for specific information regarding camping.
