Wednesday Traditions Include:
8:30 am: Alpenfest Attire Contest – Family Fare Parking Lot, Categories for Best Dressed Family, Individual, and Child. Winners and prizes announced after the walking parade at World’s Largest Coffee Break.
9:00 am: Walking Parade – Join the Gaylord Alpine Band and come dressed in your finest Alpenfest attire for the annual walking parade. Parade starts at the Family Fare parking lot and ends at the World’s Largest Coffee Break, walking down Main Street.
9:30 am: The World’s Largest Coffee Break- “Die Groeste Kaffe Pause” – Under Pavilion. Join us for coffee, donuts, and milk. Listen to the sounds of the Gaylord Alpine Band. Sponsored by Coldwell Banker.
9:45 am: Diaper Derby Under Pavilion – come cheer on the little ones and see who is the speediest crawler; prizes awarded.
10:00 am – 12:00 pm: Art Tent Arts & Crafts Stations – Get creative with hands-on arts and crafts stations. Sponsored by E-Free Kidz Ministry
10:30 am Hula Hoop – Courthouse Lawn, Various age categories. Prizes awarded.
10:30 am -11:30 am Jump Rope Competition – Courthouse Lawn, Various age categories. Prizes awarded.
KID’S DAY – Get ready for an EPIC Kids Day at Alpenfest 2026! We’re talking non-stop FUN
11:00 am: Alpen Market, Ethnic Alley, Beirgarten, and T. J. Schmiddt and Company Carnival Opens
11:15 am: Stilt Walking Contest – Courthouse Lawn, all ages welcome. Prizes awarded.
12:00 pm: Pizza Eating Contest – Under Pavilion, All ages welcome. Prizes awarded. Sponsored by Jets Pizza.
12:00 pm – 4:00 pm: Kids Painting with Daniel Duncan on the Courthouse Lawn – Come join Daniel Duncan in his tent and learn step-by-step how to create your own canvas masterpiece.
1:00 pm – 3:00 pm Art Tent Workshop – Build, create and have fun at the Kids Building Workshop. Sponsored by Home Depot.
1:00 pm – 5:00 pm: Rosco the Clown and Tommy Tropic Pavilion – Courthouse Lawn, Be entertained with balloon artistry, juggling, and lots of laughs.
1:00 pm Bubble Gum Blowing Contest – Under Pavilion, all ages welcome. Prizes awarded.
1:30 pm: Goldfish Eating Contest – Under Pavilion, all ages welcome. Prizes awarded.
2:00 pm: Potato Sack Races – Courthouse Lawn, all ages welcome.
3:00 pm – 4:00 pm: The Brothers Grimm Spectaculation at Claude Shannon Park. Written by Don Zolidis, this one-act play will be performed by Gaylord Community Productions.
4:00 pm – 5:00 pm: Family Bingo – Courthouse Lawn. Bring the whole crew for a fast-paced, exciting game everyone can enjoy together.
4:00 pm – 6:00 pm: Art Tent Friendship Bracelets – Mix, match and create your own one-of-a-kind friendship bracelets. Sponsored by State Savings Bank
5:00 pm – 6:30 pm: The Fröhliche Polka Band Concert Under the Pavilion – The Fröhliche Musiker Blasorchester is a 14-piece Bavarian-style band based in Saginaw, Michigan. They offer a high-energy, audience-interactive performance in the tradition of German Oktoberfest.
8:00 pm – 10:00 pm: Mallrats will Perform Live Under the Pavilion – Step back in time and embark on a musical journey through the iconic era of flannel shirts, neon jackets, and alternative rock. Mallrats is not a band; it’s a time machine transporting you straight into the heart of a 90s party filled with iconic sing-along rock.
